I am finally engaged to an amazing man- Kris Sorensen! We have been 'unofficially engaged' since thanksgiving when he talked to my parents, more specifically my dad. He had the full acceptance of the family though so we kept going with our plans!
THE RING: I have always known exactly what i wanted in a ring so we didn't even look around. We went to a specialty jeweler so that we could have the ring in my head actually designed and on my finger! It took 6 weeks to be done but its exactly what i wanted!! Its super sparkly and the trillions make me smile everytime I look at them. Its a unique ring so if you want a glimpse just ask to see it- I love showing it off!
THE PROPOSAL: The ring wasn't supposed to be 'ready' till new years but that was Kris's ploy to keep me in the dark. I was super suprised because he got down on his knee a whole week early! We were down in Manti area for the christmas break and had gone for a drive with his niece around Palisades lake. We got out and walked on the 'shore' of rocks. He had his neice go back to the car to get something... which was flowers and a ring box! Of course he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. According to him I said 'YES' before he could get the question fully out. He told me the ring was burning a hole in his pocket so he was sorry it was more romantic but i loved it. He knows I like the beach and the lake shore was as close as we could get! :)
THE DATE: We are getting married April 13th, 2012 in the Oquirah Mountain temple and are having a reception in Salt Lake. We will have a second reception in Corona on April 27th.
THE HONEYMOON: We are going to Cabo, Daytona Beach FL, and Orlando FL! Thats right.. be jealous! We will be scuba diving in both places, going to Harry Potter Land, and enjoying the sunshine among other things!
Lets just say I am the happiest women right now! I can't wait for my married life to begin! I feel like i've been waiting a long time for this- but I'll say its the right time now!

I want to see your ring! Post pictures please. I'm a little jealous of Costa Rica. We're going there when we learn Spanish. Congratulations! I'm so excited for you.
Soooooo super excited for you! It's amazing how the things we want line up with the Lord's plans and all of a sudden we couldn't imagine life any different....Love it! Keep us posted...and post a pic of the ring for those of us far away :)
How awesome is that?! I wish we were still in UT (wow, never thought I'd actually say that :-D), but I would have loved to be there! Congratulations... and double congratulations to Kris for surviving "the talk" with your dad! Love to you both!
