MOAB!!!

I know it's been a while since I posted anything and I have been reprimanded by those who are too attached to my blog... Nothing really was happening during those last few months of winter- believe me I was pretty much hibernating it was soooo cold! And every one knows I don't do well in the cold!  But since then I have gone to Moab. Yes.. it was my first trip and it was awesome! I went with some friends from church and made some new ones there...
On Friday we decided to go to the Monticello Temple since it was like 57 miles away and none of us had been there. Its one of those really small temples and the baptism session was just for the 5 of us! Very exclusive! Its a beautiful temple and we were so happy to be able to start our vacation on such a spiritual note!

We decided to camp out (so of course I had to buy an amazing sleeping bag and tent) and go on a 26 mile bike ride called Arches Loop. It was more then I expected but also so worth it! I thought I was a pretty big biker- I do well on the bikes at the gym but nothing prepared me for the tiredness of this ride.  I believe I started walking with 4 miles left to go, but eventually got back on for the last 3. It was intense! We went over so many different types of terrain that it wiped me out! AS you can see we started out with lots of energy and we were so done by the time we finished 23 miles. We kinda skipped that last few because it was no longer good weather. Thats right.. about mile 10 we started getting rained on and it even hailed for a bit... so crazy and scary, but still fun!

The town of Moab is interesting to say the least.. good food at Zak's and Eddie McStiffs' and we were there the same weekend as the classic American car show so we saw tons of cars dragging main street. It was a totally hippie town though! We ended up leaving earlier then expected because of the crazy wind/rain storm and am glad we did. The car ride home made it an even more interesting trip because we missed the price exit and ended up in Salina and having to go on Hwy 50 (who knew we even had that!) and then up the I-15 ... but by doing that we added almost 2 hours onto our trip. John and Bre had a great time sleeping pretty much the whole time while Tim and I def got to know each other better! Overall our adventures were great!
