Melissa's Portland Wedding Miracle

Melissa got married and to such a wonderful guy ! I will admit I was a little concerned about the weather- I mean its Oregon! It rains all the time... and when i landed it was already raining. I took only long sleeve clothes and jackets galore- not what I would expect anywhere else, I mean it was June after all!!

For Melissa's bachelorette party the bridesmaids -Jenn, Becky, me and Melissa went to dinner in downtown Portland. We were going to drive around and find something. We came across this Moroccan restaurant and decided to go in! It was so great! We sat on cushions around the table and had a 5 course meal. Of course its customary not to use utensils and so we tried.. and got through most of the meal without them. It was a lot of fun and the food was great! It had so many flavors to the chef inspired food. We ate family style- so the chef makes up dishes to feed all of us not individually ordering. Oh and we ate whatever came out! I definitely love that food!

We had a wedding miracle for sure! The day of Melissa's wedding donned sunshine and NO CLOUDS! It was beautiful! We were awoken by her screaming about how it was such a beautiful and sunny day! She was past excited for sure! We all got ready at her apt and then Kelly came to pick her up in a purple Cadillac. I know what your thinking- a purple caddy.. but it matched their colors and it was a freaking cool car!

The reception was beautifully decorated by us previously and we enjoyed the candy bar, the dance floor, the cake, and all the people I didn't know! Even though I only knew her bridesmaids and family because of the prior days I had lots of fun enjoying Melissa's moments! Kelly and Melissa were very helpful the day before except for the 'Ivy situation.' Ivy was everywhere and we were under strict orders from the Bride to remove all of it before the family got back from the picture session.. her mom had used it as a filler on almost everything. I think we got about 85% of it gone but then her mom noticed right away... oops! Its hard to tell the mother of the bride its not supposed to look how she wants it but how the bride wants it. But really who is it for more- the bride or her mother? Its infalliable question that might not ever be answered...

Overall- a great first trip to Portland. Although I didn't get to see anything like I would if it was a vacation, I got to see Melissa married (finally) and to such a perfect match. I'm so excited for this couple and truly love the friendship I have with them!! Congrats again!!
