We spent the weeks up to Labor Day weekend trying to figure out where to go for a mini vacation that we all needed. At the beginning their was a whole group of people ready to go play at the wonderful area of Lake Tahoe.. but eventually only 4 of us really went. Rachelle, Takara, Andi and I left Friday night after work and drove the 7 hour trek to get to our first destination. While we drove we graded Andi's classes papers, sang songs and talked till 2 of them fell asleep.
We got into south lake Tahoe around midnight and had to scavenge around the town to find our little hotel. We crashed right away because we were getting up early to be at the docks by 8 am. We were going parasailing!! It took them a little while to set up the boat and give us instructions but it was a glorious activity... I'm so glad that i did it. It was so early that barely anyone was on the lake and up in the air, 600 feet up in the air, it was so peaceful and beautiful. I would love to do it again! Later that day we hit up the beach and played all over the rocks and enjoyed the sun!
We finally made it over to our condo and enjoyed the luxurious accommodations. We had a huge two bedroom condo with jacuzzi bathtub! We enjoyed getting ready to go to dinner at the casino but we were so tired and exhausted from the sun burns that dinner was a flop and we ended up going home and playing games before bed. We started out Sunday going to the ward down there. It is so small that Rachelle and Andi ended up playing the piano in sacrament and relief society. After church we rented bikes and went on a 7 mile bike ride through the woods and ended up at the beach. After a picnic on the beach we finished our bike ride and went home to enjoy each other's company. That night they had a firework display so we went back to the beach and enjoyed the last warm weekend of the summer.
We had to drive home the next day but i truly enjoyed my vacation. On the way back we stopped at the 'Chocolate Nugget'. A sweets shop in the between Tahoe and Reno. We found a long lost friend there... Paul Bunyan. We enjoyed our treats on our drive home! It was such a relaxing and beautiful trip. I read an entire book and didn't have any cares while i was there. Its definitely a place i will be vacationing again! I really enjoy my vacations and enjoyed Tahoe for a short needed vacation.
My next Vacation Destination: Greece- stay tuned to hear about that!!
